Don's Positions

Roe v Wade and Personal Privacy
The US Supreme Court stripped childbearing women's right to control their bodies by overturning Roe v Wade. In our district, the Court's decision deprived thousands of women of the right to choose along with 2 million other Michigan women. Don Keskey supports Reproductive Freedom For All, working to enshrine the right to choose in our Constitution. Don supports Governor Whitmer who vows to "Fight Like Hell" to prevent the 1931 ban from becoming law.

Voter Rights
Don Keskey supports and promotes the Michigan Constitutional Voter Rights Amendment to expand and secure citizen participation in elections. Don opposes and will challenge any effort to suppress voter's rights.

Infrastructure
Michigan needs a strategy to build a better sense of community, equal opportunity, and a path to growth. This includes better roads, more robust transportation alternatives, improved public education, access to healthcare, clean energy, clean water, and protecting Michigan's natural resources, all to create good jobs. Don supports Governor Whitmer's Building Michigan Together Plan as just the beginning.

Economic Development
Michigan's economy is on the move. Our unemployment rate is down to a low of 4.4% and Don will continue to deliver on kitchen-table issues, which matter most to our district's working families. Don supports investing in Michigan's small businesses, including those in Michigan's agricultural economy. Michigan is experiencing the best economic recovery in the nation with a significant budget surplus. At the same time, Don will do everything the law allows to control short-term inflation.

Environmental Protection
Don Keskey supports clean air and water. He supports combating the pollution of natural resources, ensuring safe public water resources and promoting conservation programs.

Climate Change
Don Keskey promotes renewable energy and customer-distributed generation. Keskey supports energy efficiency.

Public Safety
When elected, Don Keskey will enhance public safety including in schools and other public gatherings with sensible gun regulation.

Public Education
Don promotes robust support for public education and teachers, across the board. Don is a product of Michigan's public schools and universities and understands their value for community and economic growth.
